The story is captivating due to its inventive structure, emotional stakes, and evocative cyberpunk atmosphere. Character history is successfully revealed by Spark's sacrifice and the record-scroll mechanism. The pace is occasionally slowed by dense metaphors and a delayed sense of purpose, and supporting characters should have more nuance.
